MATTHEW HARK PHOTOGRAPHY
Matthew Hark is a British documentary photographer and alumna from the University of Wolverhampton.
His practice has focused on the discussions of the ‘truth’ as the fundamental cornerstone of photo-reportage, maintaining a thorough approach to the theoretical debates in ways by which his practice sustains a contemporary significance, with images that cross the boundaries of classic documentary and into fine art. The majority of his work invites the viewers to spend more time with it, unlike typical reportage that focuses on the communication of information in, nevertheless, aesthetically mediated forms. Matthew Hark engages with the political and social landscape of Britain with observation and honesty.
